Professional photographs of my precious babies by Lindsey Lissau. And yes, James, they are worth every penny, although you will never know exactly how many... :)
Happy Easter! This past week has been CRAZY and has felt VERY long. We lost our power in the thunderstorms that came through on Tuesday night and were without until Friday afternoon. Not fun. But, we survived and we ended the week with a great Easter weekend full of festivities.
Earlier in the week (when we still had power or "powers" as Case would say), we dyed our eggs.
On Saturday we headed out for the Easter picnic at our church. I snapped this pic before we left. Emery was all ready to go...notice the blur in the background as Case was doing acrobatics off the foot board... And of course the Easter bunny came to our house as well on Saturday afternoon for Case to hunt in our yard. Easter Sunday. Emery is ready for her first trip to church in her pretty dress. And as for these next few...well, I tried... We feel so blessed in so many ways this Easter and are especially thankful on this day and every day for our risen savior and the promise we have for eternal life. I was trying to tell Case this morning on the way to church about Easter and about Jesus' death and him coming back to life so we could go to Heaven and he said, "I love Jesus and I want to go to Heaven!" And I just said, "Me too, buddy. Me too."
I can't believe that my baby girl is two weeks old already. She's just growing too fast and her cheeks are getting so fat! She's becoming more alert every day and is even starting to enjoy a little time laying on her play mat.
Just a few stories to remember down the road about Case's reaction to his new baby sis...
Day 1: At the hospital, Case couldn't even look at her. He would just turn his head and close his eyes...as if he thought, "if I don't see her, maybe she doesn't exist!" It was pretty funny. He was way more interested in riding the elevator and throwing pennies in the fountain at the hospital than he was in his new sibling.
Day 2: James' parents were going to head back to their house the afternoon we got home from the hospital. Debra was sitting in our living room holding Emery and I told Case he better go tell his Maw Maw and Paw Paw bye before they left. So Case ran into the room and said, "Bye Paw Paw, bye Maw Maw, bye Emery..." I had to explain to him that baby Emery was not going to Waverly and that she was here to stay with us for forever. He asked, "She's staying here...forever?" So funny, but he's warming up to the idea now...I think!
This weekend Emery got to meet her Uncle Tyler, Aunt Jennifer and her cousins, Will and Evan. We had a great time...especially Case. He loves playing with his cousins. He went strong all day Saturday without a nap and you can see from the last pic that he was worn out. He didn't even make it through the second book Nana read to him and the sun hadn't even set yet! He was pooped!
