It's Been a Decade

May 22 officially marked 10 years since James and I tied the knot! Insert cliche of your choice here____________.  I'll pick…."Seems like only yesterday…" It really does.

On a more serious and genuine note, I can say that after a decade together, we now appreciate the words my father told James when he asked for permission to marry me…My dad simply replied with "Marriage is hard work" followed by a lengthier speech about commitment, etc. We laughed about it then not really knowing what we were getting into. Now we can look back and fully appreciate that sentiment and my dad's words of wisdom. Just like with anything else that is worthwhile (take parenting for instance), it's hard work but the rewards are tenfold.  I love this guy, the family we have established and the life we have built together. Would do it all again (with only slight changes) if I could.

My most favorite thing about anniversaries is the excuse to celebrate (without the children). James and I enjoyed a wonderful evening out together…one of my favorites. Happy Anniversary to us!

EC2 Year in Review

I got a disc at the end of the school year that had all of Emery's photos from throughout the semester. Love that they do this for all the kids! Here are some of my favorites! It was a great semester!

That's a Wrap

It's official. The 2013-2014 school year has come to an end and we've spent the last week celebrating with Emery's spring program, Case's first piano recital, our first official "Field Day" and CJ's graduation from Sheffield. It's been a crazy, but fun week! Here we come, Summer!!

I Had a Birthday?

2014: the year that I had a birthday and almost didn't even have time to notice…almost. We did find time to go out to dinner and celebrate with friends.

Bike

This has been happening for awhile now. Just haven't gotten around to properly documenting it. We bought him this bike for this third birthday and it was WAY to big for him. He was only able to ride it at all last summer and finally this spring could touch the ground to steady it with the training wheels off. All it took was a few minutes of practicing with Dad and it was a done deal. Way to go, Case!

Mother's Day 2014

Mother's Day 2014 was truly a wonderful day. Thankful that the Lord has blessed me (and James) with two great kiddos. Having a special day to celebrate that brings me joy and I soaked up every second of it!

The day began with a special delivery! This is only the third time in 14 yeas that James has given me flowers, so it was kind-of a big deal. Now that I'm working from home, I've been enjoying them all week!

Mom's day photo booth at Highland. Such a cute idea!

Sometimes it's like they actually love each other.

Ended the day chowing down at Central BBQ. Mom's choice.

Thanks to James for his thoughtfulness and to the kids for playing well together all day. It just might have been a record. I enjoyed every second of it!

Quick Update - Mostly Pics

Whew! Life has been BUSY lately! I've decided that May might be our busiest month of the year. Even busier than December. Here's a quick update…mostly in pics.

Fun at school!
Case is playing t-ball for the first time. I think he likes it a bit better than soccer and I personally enjoy spectating a bit more as well! No offense to the sport of soccer…

A little coaching going on at first base!

Fancy night out with this guy at the GPAC gala.

Case's JK class led chapel at Harding Academy last week. They did a great job! Case had two speaking parts and stole the show! We were so proud of our little shepherd!

Fun at the park enjoying this beautiful spring weather lately!
Oak Hall run for St. Jude. I ran. Everyone else cheered.

More to come about #teamcarson in another post.

Enjoying Popsicles after the race

To add to our usual craziness, I recently changed jobs. More to come on that later…

Bring on summer!
