This weekend was truly a gift. It's rare that James and I (together) get one-on-one time with our kids. So a whole weekend in Georgia with Case (made possible by grandparents) was so much fun! We got to watch him do what he loves on the pitch, ventured a bit off the beaten path to see the Vecna house from Stranger Things, and witnessed the end of the World Cup final on the field with a bunch of 2008 boys from Tennessee and Georgia, a moment these boys will never forget. Oh, and my first time at But-ee's which nearly triggered a panic attack, redeemed only by bribing Case for a pic with the Santa Buc-ee.

Case's 14th Birthday
Happy #14 to our first born! To celebrate, we brought a few friends home from school on Friday to hang out until bedtime. I have been picking up nerf bullets for days since. I think a good time was had by all.

Case,
Happy 14th birthday, buddy! Year 13 brought a lot of changes ... you grew a foot (maybe literally) and are now officially taller than your mom and you sound like an adult (sometimes we think a stranger is in our house) among the most noticeable. You've also honed in on what you are most interested in and are pouring more of your time and energy into those things (band, soccer, piano, tennis and church) and among our favorite things to do is to watch you participate in those things. It brings us much joy to see you do what you love to do. It's also been fun to watch you grow into your role as a big brother (again). Maisy loves her "bubba" and it's so fun to see the two of you play together. We are so proud of you and grateful that God gifted you to us 14 years ago. We pray that as you continue to grow and mature, that you will seek God's direction in all that you do. We love you!

Kicking off Summer
Oh, how I love summer. Although I have to work in the summers, it still hits differently. The biggest difference being that I don't have to set an alarm and we don't have a zillion places to be in the afternoons. We can do whatever we want and most nights I can cook (if I choose to). I may never want this summer to end ...

And just a few weeks in and we've already checked a few things off our bucket list including, pool time at the JCC, a picnic at Shelby Farms and a trip to the Memphis Zoo.
| Maisy LOVED seeing the animals. She would squeal in delight at every one. So adorable! |
