Camp Highland 2018

Camp Highland 2018 lived up to it's name "Best week of the year." It was bittersweet for James and me because it was Case's first year (so exciting) and the seniors last year (so sad). Case had a great time! The only little hiccup he had was difficulty falling asleep the first night. His counselor called James at 12:30AM and James popped over to his cabin and gave him a Benadryl. That was the only night he had trouble falling to sleep. I think every other night he crashed pretty hard.

You can check out the abbreviated camp video on Facebook! Looking forward to getting the full version.

Cabin #6 is ready for a great week!

Emery came out and joined us everyday for a few hours of play time. She's (un)patiently waiting for her turn to be an official camper.

She was finally brave enough to try the giant slide (and she loved it)

I honestly didn't see Case that much. The older kids and younger kids are really only together during meals and at night during worship. So I got lucky when I walked by the giant swing one afternoon on my way to the lake with the seniors and noticed Case was getting harnessed up. So I got to watch him conquer the swing and he loved it. I was impressed with how brave all the 4th graders were.

One of our senior girls was baptized on Thursday night! Such a special moment. We were thrilled to be a part of it.

Summer 2018 (Part 1)

Summer's not quite half over and we've already crossed a lot of fun activities off our summer bucket list!

Memorial Day fun to kick things off seeing SOLO in the new IMAX theater!

Followed by swimming and a cook out at the Wildrick's new house

Starting summer off with a little Jerry's Sno Cones

Kayaking at Shelby Farms
This was much more fun that I thought it would be. The weather was perfect (zero humidity), the water was calm and Case was really good at paddling. We had a blast! Unfortunately, it will probably be too hot to go back until the fall.

Mempops treat post-kayak trip

Memphis Zoo
I made the mistake of planning our zoo trip on "Tennessee Tuesday" when admission is FREE to all TN residents. Holy smokes was it crowded! Won't make that mistake again! But we still had a great time!

Ripley's exhibit: Elephant made out of rubber tires

Fun with the West cousins

Girls having fun in the fort with flashlights in the dark!

Fun mini college friends reunion play date

Checking out the new Memphis Rox community climbing gym

The Art Project

 Chandler's wedding

Harding Academy night at the Redbirds game
We had such a great time at our first Redbirds game as a family. I can't believe we've never gone before. It was a nice night (not too hot/humid), the game was short and the fireworks were so much fun.

Case caught a hat from Rocky!

Incredibles 2 was so good!

Trying to stay cool at the soccer fields

Emery is really into coming up with dance routines and loves for her daddy to assist. She can really wear him out doing this over and over and over again! :)  I wanted to be sure and capture this so I will always remember this stage! And Case is in the background playing Fortnite (his latest obsession in the world of video games).
