Easter 2016

I was sad to miss all of the pre-Easter festivities due to a week-long business trip but James and his parents took a lot of pics for me so that I could see how much fun everyone had and document the holiday properly. And although I was sad to miss the annual Easter Extravaganza at Highland, I hear it included some sleet/snow and was freezing cold so maybe not such a bad one for this momma to miss! But I think the kids had a ton of fun regardless of the temps!

I also missed the annual hat parade and egg hunt at Harding, but again, the in-laws represented and I'm sure Emery was thrilled to have them there.

Emery, Addison and Piper
I was in Dallas, Texas at the Hilton Anatole working on a big conference for Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites. It was a LONG week full of LONG days but it was a smashing success and by Thursday night, we were relieved and ready to relax and celebrate!

Pic in front of the Berlin wall segments that were featured in the hotel. Super cool!

I arrived on Good Friday morning and got to spend the whole day with James and the kids. Just what this momma needed after being gone from my favorite people all week.

And then we were super excited that the Easter bunny stopped by to leave a few treats and of course, hide some eggs!

The face you make when there's a slug on your egg...

Ready for worship on Easter morning!

Once again a huge shout out to James' parents for staying and helping him pack lunches, shuttle kids to soccer practice, cook dinner, etc., etc., all week while I was gone. While James certainly could have made it all week on his own, I sure am glad he didn't have to!

Spring Break 2016 - Puerto Rico

We just returned from an absolutely wonderful spring break trip to Fajardo, Puerto Rico. We went a couple of years ago and loved it so so much! We had always hoped to go back and so glad we did. It did not disappoint. Just as wonderful as we remembered and we were thankful to have James' parents with us yet again.

**WARNING** LOTS and LOTS of photos. And the crazy thing is that there are hundreds more that I didn't post.

Headed to catch our first flight from MEM!

The facilities and setting hadn't changed any in the last two years so I didn't take any pics of the resort or views. But for a reminder, check out our Spring Break 2014 post

Waiting to catch the boat over to Palomino Island on day 1! So excited to hit the beach!

My favorite spot under the tree enjoying the amazing view.

First iguana spotting.

Hitting the water park to end day 1!

On the first boat of the day on day 2 ready to hit the beach again!

Dancing in the waves!

Headed back to the water park on day 2!

All cleaned up and headed out for a delicious Puerto Rican dinner.
Back on the boat and ready for day 3 at the beach!

Case discovered his love of mini-golf this trip. Many games were played. He also discovered his love of chess (not pictured).

A hermit crab washed up on the beach and kept Emery entertained for HOURS. She named her Princess Darla ("Herme" for short) and built a castle for her and dipped her in and out of the water a million times. I'm sure Herme was sad when we left for the day…ha!

All cleaned up and headed out for a delicious dinner again. We ate well on this trip!! Such good food!

We ate all meals outdoors in the Puerto Rican breeze.

Making the most out of our last day at the beach!

Already miss this view!

Headed out to see the "aquarium." A large section of coral not far off the shore with hundreds of fish. So cool!

There were lots of new friend to play with on our last day.

Emery also discovered her love of swimming in the ocean on our last day. I don't think she realized she could swim in it until then. Silly girl!

So very thankful for this guy and the fact that he likes to take me cool places!

Catching a few final pics at sunrise as we headed up for breakfast before driving to the airport.

Peace out, Puerto Rico! We hope to be back again soon!
