I Pledge

I was off on Monday due to the MLK holiday and got the rare opportunity to watch the Oprah show. Ashton and Demi were on her show that day and they showed a clip of a video that they directed called the "I Pledge" video. They created this video in a response to President Obama's call to service and it features many celebrities pledging what they each can do to pitch in to make this a better America, and the responses were mixed and all over the board, both little and small things and both serious and funny things. Anyway, I thought it was FANTASTIC, and it inspired me to think about what I pledge to do, so here you go, just to name a few...

I Pledge to:

To be a good mother
Recycle
Choose paper instead of plastic
Stimulate the economy by frequenting the mall :)
Serve the poor in Memphis

So, what's your pledge?

More Milestones

I know, I know...it's been forever since I've posted. Don't worry, I have a lot of really good excuses the main one being that we've all been sick for what seems like forever. I'm hoping that by the end of this three day weekend that maybe we can all fully recover. There hasn't been a lot going on...just the same ole, same ole.
The pics above are of Case's first "real" attempts at sitting up by himself. He can do it for a little longer every day. We are of course, so very proud. We also recently traveled to Dyersburg to visit James' grandfather and Marjorie (pictured with Case above). And last, but certainly not least, Case is finally starting to eat a little bit of cereal. Our fist attempt was horrible (see earlier post) but he's taking a liking to it. I still think more ends up on his bib than in his belly, but oh well. Oh, and I also threw one in of Case and the dogs just for the grandparents! They just love our dogs so much...can you hear the sarcasm in my typed words??? :)
One exciting thing to note...we have just planned our first vacation (with child) for early March. We're headed back to Mexico and are really looking forward to it. James' parents are going too, so we'll have babysitters on hand at all times! I've got to get busy getting all of our stuff together. After all, Case is going to need swim suits, rash guards, a cute hat, sunglasses and all sorts of other cute stuff! I began my quest for a swimsuit for myself today, which wasn't very fun! I came home empty handed and am going to try again in a week or two...I've got to try and get in shape ASAP! That should have been my new year's resolution!
