Trolley Ride
Riding the trolley is always good for some super cheap and awesome entertainment. Especially on a beautiful spring afternoon!

One Year Stats
Suckers make everything better!
We went to the pediatrician today for E's one year check-up. The shots were no fun at all, but she was a champ. Turns out she's cutting four molars at the same time which has been the cause for her somewhat bad mood these past few days! Poor thing! Hopefully they'll be through soon and she will be back to normal!
Emery's one year stats:
Head size: I don't remember exactly, but 80%. Still big!
Height: 29 in., 50%
Weight: 18.5 lbs, 10%. She's a slender little thing but perfectly healthy!

Bark in the Park
Picnic lunch today at Levitt Shell for Bark in the Park. Entertainment provided by the band, Sheriffs of Nottingham (our friend Kyle plays the drums). It was a fun time on a beautiful day!

So close to walking....come on little E!
E is sporting her Birthday outfit since she didn't get to show it off last week.

Belize!
****Warning, photo overload on this post!**** I just can't help it. The setting was beautiful, which warranted LOTS of photos all worthy of proper documentation of our trip (mostly in chronological order).

We made it! Our first night in Belize City at the Raddison.
The following morning we boarded a large covered boat, with 16 other adventurers in our group and a handful of Island Expeditions staffers and headed for Half Moon Caye pronounced "key," btw. Half Moon Caye is THE LAST island off the coast of Belize. It was a LONG and fast boat ride (over two hours), so you really got the sense that we were literally out in the middle of the ocean, very far away from TV's, telephones, Internet, air conditioning, etc. Island life here we come! The trip was beautiful, passing many other islands on our way.
Bye, bye, Belize City!
During our boat ride we saw a school of Spinner Dolphins jumping and "spinning" along our boat. It was fantastic to watch! There were probably 10 or 12 of them leaping into the air over and over again. I snapped a few pics, but they don't do it justice.
There she is! Our first glimpse at Half Moon Caye!
Getting closer. View out the font of the boat as we approach.
We slept in tented beach cabanas which were very comfortable and made the most of the breeze off the ocean. Each cabana had a bed, nightstand, oil lantern, and tables for two pieces of luggage. It was very minimal. Think glorified camping, but in the most breathtaking setting you could ever dream of! I enjoyed a few days break from blow drying and make up!

There she is, cabana #3
Ready to hit the reef for some snorkeling!
In addition to snorkeling, we did a lot of relaxing in the hammocks!
Sunrise just outside our cabana on day 2
So far....
Almost there!!!
We made it! Wahoo!
The travel company that we went with provides all of our meals while on the island. They have two cooks that prepare traditional Belizean cuisine fresh for every meal of the day. The food was delicious. I can't think of one thing that wasn't good. It far surpassed my expectations! Conch soup, plantains, pear squash, shrimp, fresh fish of all kinds, banana pancakes, fresh squeezed juices...I could go on. My mouth is watering just thinking of it again! Yum!
Table set for dinner on our last night
Sunrise on our last morning
View from our last snorkel site on the far end of the island. Looking back on our camp.
Awaiting our boat for the trip back to the mainland. Bye, bye Half Moon Caye!

More Birthday
Well, the day's events to celebrate Emmy's birthday today didn't quite work out as planned. That's just life. It happens sometimes. Soooooo.....we improvised and made the best of it!
The kids went to school and I took cupcakes to Emery's class. She devoured her cupcake, of course. I could hardly get the camera ready to take pics before it was gone! So, while we didn't have a real party, we still got some cute pics of her in her cute birthday bib that I got on Etsy. I plan to do a shadow box with a photo of each child with their birthday bibs to hang up in the house somewhere. Got the idea on Pinterest. We'll see if I can follow through with it...
And in preparation for a party, I made this centerpiece (Pinterest inspired, of course) a week ago and had planned to tie balloons to it today. It turned out really cute and Case is looking forward to eating the jellybeans out of it now!
