Summer with Chandler

Words cannot even express the love and gratitude we have for Chandler Head! As evidenced below, the kids had an amazing summer with her. Chandler, thank you for loving our babies and giving them a memorable summer! You have made a lasting impression on all of us! We love you and miss you already! You will always be a part of our family and we look forward to many more good times in the future!

Here are just a few of the pics Chandler took over the summer. Think they had a good time, or what?

My (not so) New Job

For those of you that don't already know, I took a new job back at the very end of April. I stumbled upon an opportunity that I simply could not pass up. I'm basically doing all the same things I've always done my entire career, it's just that now I'm now doing them from the comfort of home (other than client meetings) with a wonderfully flexible schedule…meaning I set my own hours. It's been a great fit so far and I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to continue to do what I love on a schedule that fits my personal life. I've been holding off making a "social media" announcement until our new website was up and it just launched on Friday! Check it out! Some funny stuff in our bios. That Anna Underwood conducts a thorough interview and what she put together for each of us makes me laugh out loud! I am blessed to work with some wonderfully talented people! Enjoy!

Wedding Bells

Both of the kids were in a wedding recently. It was our first experience as a flower girl and ring bearer and I must say that the kids loved it and did an excellent job. Emery was hilarious going down the isle. She stopped and posed for every person that had their phone out to take a photo. Needless to say it took her quite some time to make it down the isle. So much so that the sound guy had to loop the music because the song ended before she was done. Ha! She absolutely loved the attention and getting to wear a "wedding dress."

The groom is the son of my friend Xu (Joy). I read the Bible with Joy on Wednesday nights to help her improve her English. She is originally from China. I have just loved getting to know her and her sweet family over the past few years and was honored that they asked Case and Emery to be a part of their special day.

Most of the guests had never attended a traditional American Christian wedding before and many of them couldn't speak English. It was so neat to get to be a part of something so unique. The wedding was beautiful and the reception was one of the nicest I've ever attended.

Congratulations,  Lu and Xiao! We wish you many years of happiness together!

HYG Ocoee Trip 2014

Words can not even express how muchI love East Tennessee. It is just so beautiful over there. James and I had such a great time in Ocoee last year with the Highland Youth Group that we couldn't resist the chance to go again this year. And it did not disappoint. "Good music and good times…good times…good times."

Summer 2014

Thank you, Polar Vortex, for providing the most glorious summer. I could never have imagined it could feel like this in Memphis in the middle of summer. We are milking it for all it is worth these last few weeks before school starts back.

Checking out the new Beale Street Landing downtown

Jerry's Sno Cone stop on a mild July afternoon! What?!?! We even sat in the sun to enjoy them!
