Team Carson - An update

It's almost time for the St. Jude marathon weekend and this is my last big push to raise some funds for TEAM CARSON as a St. Jude Hero! I'm oh-so-close to my goal! Please won't you help me reach it?? Click here to donate and here to read more about why I'm running to support Team Carson and why St. Jude is the most amazing place on earth.

Many many thanks to all those that have already donated! I've been amazed and overwhelmed by all the support I've received so far! You guys (and gals) are awesome!

Yesterday our family joined hundreds of others for Carson's Make-a-Wish ceremony at Highland where she was granted the wish to go to Chicago to the American Girl Store among many other fun things!  Carson looked beautiful and was the star of the fashion show! Blessed by this sweet girl and her whole family (you know we are a little partial to big sis, Chandler)!

Please, please, please continue to pray Carson and her family. You can read more about her journey and follow their story on Caring Bridge

Happy in Memphis 5K Fun

The Nowlin family was definitely Happy in Memphis at the Happy in Memphis 5K and fall festival at Harding Academy on Saturday! I ran the 5K hitting a new PR, Case and Emery both ran the 300 yard kids dash and James cheered us all on! It was such a fun morning! And if you haven't already seen the Happy in Memphis video that Harding Academy produced last year, or just want to watch it again because it makes you happy, you can view it here

Happy Halloween!

Fall and Halloween, consider yourselves officially celebrated. Many times over. It's been a fun month!

Pumpkin patch day at Harding Academy

Trunk or Treat at Highland. It was 86 degrees. We had to go to "plan b" for our costumes. Darth Vader and full fleece pink unicorn wouldn't have survived the heat. So Memphis Cheerleader and UT football player we were instead.

Love that Carson was able to join the fun! She made a beautiful Greek goddess!

Nothing better on a hot day than an ice cream treat from the ice cream truck!

We carved our very first pumpkin this year! The kids loved it but Emery would NOT stick her hand inside and help pull the guts out so Case and I had to do all the dirty work!

And then on top of all of that, it was red ribbon week at school and the theme was superheroes! On Friday the kids dressed up as superheroes. Captain America and Spider Girl!

Sweet friends!

Love these girls!
Finally, it was the "real" Halloween and much colder. So Darth Vader and the pink unicorn finally made their appearance! We met up with our neighbors and trick or treated in our neighborhood together for about an hour and a half. The kids had a blast and we have enough candy for a decade.
