Wrapping up Summer & Back to School 2020

A couple of notable things happened to wrap up our Covid summer ....

Caseman got his braces on. He looks so different to me ... so grown. I wasn't expecting that!

Emery and I traveled to Birmingham, AL for a 3 v 3 soccer tournament with some of her club teammates. They lost every game but had a blast! It was really a lot of fun having a girls weekend!

Malone, Sadie, Emery, Louise and Jo

We had a back to school open house to meet the kids' teachers.

Emery is in 4th grade and has a new teacher, Mrs. Henry. We are excited about a great year ahead!

Case has moved on up to middle school and has a bunch of different teachers. I was only able to grab a pic of him with one of them ... Mr. Cunningham, his Western Civilization teacher.

Mario left for Central Christian College of Kansas. We were sad to see him go and will miss him around the house, but super excited for his Junior year!

And then it was the actual first day of school. 6th and 4th grade ... let's do it!

I'm so thankful to go to work everyday and be with these kiddos. I'm especially loving Case being in the upper school. I get to see him multiple times throughout the day every day since my office is right in the middle of things. It's going to be a weird year but we are grateful to be at Harding!

Spring Soccer

It's been a fun and busy spring soccer season. Emery was back at it after a break from soccer last year and she had a great season. She even scored 4 goals in one of her games and we were so proud! She loves to play forward and score goals. She doesn't love playing back as defender (opposite of her brother).

Case's team got to escort the Memphis 901 FC team onto the field for one of their games. They had such a good time and all thought it was so cool (and it was).

Case got to escort the team captain, Marc Burch, and was the first out of the tunnel and the smoke cannons startled him. I was so glad a friend of ours captured this moment on video for us. Case said something to Marc about it while they were walking and Marc replied to Case "those got me the first time too." So funny. A memory I want to capture and remember for a long time to  come.

Case has even become a focal point in their social media advertising. This photo is popping up in their paid ads all over Facebook and Instagram. So fun!

They came out on top as tournament champs at a tournament in Jonesboro, AR. It was such a fun weekend. It's always more fun when you win, am I right?

It's been a great season, but I'm thankful for a break over the summer! I'll be ready to do it all over again come August. But for now, we will enjoy family dinners at a reasonable time in the evenings.
