Birthday in Boca

Back in October of last year, one of my clients gifted me two free nights at ANY Hilton hotel to be used at anytime within the next year. What an awesome gift, right?? So I booked a girls trip to Boca Raton, FL the weekend of my birthday for a much needed and super fun getaway.

We stayed at the Boca Beach Club, a Waldorf Astoria hotel and it was ahhhh-mazing! One of the nicest hotels I've ever seen or stayed in. And I think they treated us extra special because it was my birthday with an upgrade to an ocean view room.

The first day the sun was out and we hit the beach as soon as we could! The sun didn't shine the rest of the trip so we were glad to have made the most of it!

There's a hilarious and long story to fully explain this next photo. Definitely a part of the trip we will not soon forget.

Free birthday cake on the beach to share! Yum! They really rolled out the red carpet!

Birthday dinner at Rocco's Tacos. So yummy!

We woke up (at 9:30 a.m.) on Saturday morning to a grey rainy day, so we just stayed in the bed and watched the royal wedding on our giant TV, followed by a yummy brunch and pedicures in town.

Checking out the main Waldorf Resort property a few miles away from the Beach Club. So fancy!

We ended our rainy day with Overboard and a beachside seafood dinner.

Our last day was grey, but no rain! So we enjoyed another day on the beach with our books and combing the shore for seashells. A great way to end our long weekend!

After dropping the girls off at the airport for their return flight to Memphis, I drove over to Orlando to meet up with my Thinkwell colleagues for a conference and we celebrated my birthday over dinner at Tu Tu Tango. Again, so yummy!

So far year 36 is off to a great start!

Easter 2016

I was sad to miss all of the pre-Easter festivities due to a week-long business trip but James and his parents took a lot of pics for me so that I could see how much fun everyone had and document the holiday properly. And although I was sad to miss the annual Easter Extravaganza at Highland, I hear it included some sleet/snow and was freezing cold so maybe not such a bad one for this momma to miss! But I think the kids had a ton of fun regardless of the temps!

I also missed the annual hat parade and egg hunt at Harding, but again, the in-laws represented and I'm sure Emery was thrilled to have them there.

I was in Dallas, Texas at the Hilton Anatole working on a big conference for Homewood Suites and Home2 Suites. It was a LONG week full of LONG days but it was a smashing success and by Thursday night, we were relieved and ready to relax and celebrate!

Pic in front of the Berlin wall segments that were featured in the hotel. Super cool!

I arrived on Good Friday morning and got to spend the whole day with James and the kids. Just what this momma needed after being gone from my favorite people all week.

And then we were super excited that the Easter bunny stopped by to leave a few treats and of course, hide some eggs!

The face you make when there's a slug on your egg...

Ready for worship on Easter morning!

Once again a huge shout out to James' parents for staying and helping him pack lunches, shuttle kids to soccer practice, cook dinner, etc., etc., all week while I was gone. While James certainly could have made it all week on his own, I sure am glad he didn't have to!
