Chicago!

We opted for a family trip to Chicago instead of Christmas this year and the wait was finally over! Easter weekend in the Windy City did not disappoint. We had a blast!

Day one started out on the very windy and chilly side. We walked from our hotel to Navy Pier to kick off our sightseeing.

From there, James and I took all the kids to the aquarium. There were no less than one million people there, but we had a great time.

By that afternoon the wind had died down a bit and the temps had warmed considerably so we enjoyed a few hours at Maggie Daley Park. So much fun.

From the park we walked back to the hotel up Michigan Avenue and took in all the sights.

Chicago style pizza for dinner of course!

Day two started with an egg hunt in the hotel room. Who knew the Easter bunny would find us in Chicago?
The weather was near perfect on Sunday, perfect for a stroll to Millenium Park

Then .... What time is it? Show time!!

The show was amazing, exceeding our expectations in every way. Case leaned over to me after the second number and said, "This is really good." I'm not sure what he expected, but it was better than anything he had imagined.

James and I got to catch up with one of our good friends from college, James Reeves, on Sunday night. It loved getting to see him and catch up.

The Fowlkes crew had to head out early on Monday morning but our flight didn't leave until mid-afternoon, so after sleeping in and catching a late breakfast, we headed back to the park for more play time. Not pictured was a fun round of mini-golf followed by the playground.

I polled our crew on our way home and asked if the trip had been better than presents at Christmas and all were in agreement that YES, it was way better! A trip these cousins will hopefully never forgoet.
