Fall Break 2014

Our family loves the Smokey Mountains. Especially in the fall. This marks the second year in a row we've been with the kids for fall break and it did not disappoint as evidenced by all the photos that follow! It was a great time had by all!

Got things started off at Dollywood on our first full day! This was a big year for Case, as he was exactly 48" and tall enough to ride all of the big roller coasters but one (which was closed anyway due to wasps). He was a bit hesitant as he stood in line and saw first hand how fast they go…sometimes a LOT hesitant…but after a bit of truth bending (at times) we got him on and he loved every second! Even the one that went literally straight up, upside down and all around!

Total coincidence that some of our favorite people on the whole planet were there on the same day! So excited to see the Shirley family and spend the day with them! Made the somewhat long lines go much faster! Miss having them in Memphis!!

Emery's first real roller coaster. It was a bit traumatic for her! When asked how it was she replied, "not good!"

So thankful to have James' parents with us!

We headed into the Great Smokey Mountain National Park on day two to explore Cade's cove and have some fun in the streams along one of the the main roads.

A lesson on skipping rocks.

And then there was an indoor water park at our resort that was a huge hit for both the kids and the adults! It was so much fun! Wish I had more pics but was too busy riding the rides myself!

Em's favorite was the wave pool!

And as if all that wasn't exciting enough, Case also lost his first tooth while we were there! He was thrilled that the tooth fairy was able to find him all the way in East Tennessee!

A Taste of Fall

My favorite time of year…in photos…

My favorite kind of selfie! Swinging with my babies at the Botanic Gardens.

I was so proud of my SK prayer leader at See You at the Pole! The principal asked four of the SK students to lead the prayer stations for the EC students. Case led the prayer for the community workers in our city. He did such a great job and led the prayer for each class (PK2, PK3, JK and SK). The two year olds were the cutest. They repeated his entire prayer…Case said, "Dear God" and they all repeated in unison "Dear God" and that continued until the end. It was so sweet! I love that the school is encouraging leadership even from such a young age!
