Christmas 2016

Wowzers! We've had a BIG Christmas this year! We kicked off the festivities on the 23rd in Mountain View.

Highlight of the evening were the many rounds of late-night cousin laser tag outside in the dark. So much fun!!

We headed back to Memphis after brunch on the 24th to prepare for Santa's arrival.

Lots of pre-Christmas fun at school...sleigh rides, petting zoo, Christmas program and Christmas parties...

And of course....lots of Star Wars binge watching prepping for the new Rogue One. So good!!

Olympic Gymnastics Day

Emery had her first gymnastics competition a few weeks ago and she did great! The biggest laugh of the day came during the warm-ups for her very first apparatus (vault). She took off for her warm up vault running as hard and as fast as she could, just pumping her arms like I'd never seen before...it was as if she was trying to mimic what she had seem the US Olympic gymnasts to on TV this summer. About half-way down the runway she tripped and fell flat on her face...hard! We tried not to laugh, but it was hilarious! She never even looked over at us. Just popped right back up, took off and finished her vault. Since it was just her warm up, we weren't videoing and were so sad that we didn't capture that moment to remember forever! It was a fun morning cheering for our little gymnast! 

St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend 2016

Another great weekend running for the kids at St. Jude! My friend Lauren and I ran the 10K. With a 7AM start time, bit was a brisk morning but we were thankful the rain held off. It was also super crowded at the beginning with all the 5 and 10K runners starting together but after the 10Kers split off we could set a decent pace. While it wasn't our best race in terms of time for the year, it was certainly the most rewarding! And thanks to all the folks who donated to support my hero efforts, I surpassed my goal!
