Easter 2014

What a busy week and weekend! Easter 2014 has been a great one! Trying to savor every moment of these sweet holidays that are extra fun to the kids while they are so young!

Mid-week I had the honor of accompanying four of my favorites to Harding Academy's spiritual mentor chapel. I love these ladies so much and could not be prouder of them! Blessed to know them and be a part of their lives!

Thursday was Emery's Easter Extravaganza at school. They had an Easter hat parade and then hunted eggs on the football field. The weather was beautiful and the kiddos had such a great time!

Em and Addison - two peas in a pod, these two!

Grateful to have my parents in town for the weekend. We spent almost the whole time outdoors enjoying this LOVELY spring weather! We worked in the yard, played some ball, rode bikes, went for long walks, had a picnic and hunted lots of eggs!

Saturday we headed to our church for some special Easter festivities…pony rides, hay rides, the Easter bunny and more!

Started like this...
Ended like this… (bribery for candy may have been involved)

Glad to see this face!

By the end of the day, these two were BFF's!

Dying eggs for the Easter Bunny!

A bit of bed head happening here!

We then enjoyed an awesome morning of worship with our Highland Family! Praises be to God! He's ALIVE!

Fabulous

Last week while I was doing household chores, I stumbled upon this! 10 minutes earlier we had just gotten out of the bathtub and had our pj's on. I said, "come here Emery and let me take your picture with that 'get up' on." She walked into the doorway, threw her head to the side her hip out and said, "Fabulous!" I promise I did not teach her such things. She was just born this way. Love this little mess so much! Yes, Emery...you are quite fabulous!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Emery!

I do love birthdays. Such a great excuse to do special things with the ones we love! And we've had a great time celebrating Emery's 3rd birthday over the past week! It all started last weekend with a girls trip to the nail salon for pedicures with some of our besties. Emery wasn't sure about putting her feet in the water at first, but it didn't take her long to figure out how it worked and she loved it. She and Jordan were so cute. They just kept looking at each other and giggling. Love these two! And big surprise that Emery picked out pink and even brighter pink for her fingers and toes!

And then today was her actual birthday, so we wanted it to be special! Started out with a surprise in Emery's room when she woke up this morning! A Jill Hatcher original that looks super duper cute in Emery's room. She loved it! Looking forward to movie watching and picnic having under it!

And then there was one more surprise for her. I don't know what these things are called, but our friend Lincoln has one and the kids LOVE it. It's very cool and doesn't move like your average trike.

And because I don't bake (don't have the time or the patience and hate the mess), I picked up some precious cupcake cookies! They looked cute and tasted great too. Emery took a box to share with her class at Harding and I hear they were a big hit!

It was a beautiful afternoon so we hit the park after school for some play time. The kids had a ball and played together so well. It was as if they actually loved each other. Warmed my heart!  I think Emery is finally getting old enough that they can do more things together that Case finds fun and entertaining. Which makes it nice and relaxing for me to just sit back and watch.

And then we ended the day with a little YoLo treat after dinner. We even let Emery go in her tutu since it was her birthday. She loved it!

Emery - Happy Birthday! We love you so much sweet girl!  You came into the world in the midst of  a tornado and we should have known then that it was a sign of things to come! You provide us with hours of entertainment and we wouldn't trade you for anything in the whole world!
