AJ and Brisco

It was 2004. I had waited my whole (22 years at that point) life to have an inside dog. It was certainly a prerequisite for my future spouse to be on board and James not only agreed but spent hours researching what breed would be the best fit for us and our future family. After purchasing our first house with a proper yard, we brought AJ home. A few months later, we decided he needed a buddy to keep him company so we went back to get Brisco.

Back then, the thought of having a dog (or two) for over 16 years sounded crazy. Were we really ready for that kind of commitment? But now we’d give anything to have 16 more. They were good pups. It broke our hearts to say goodbye today (harder than I had even imagined) but we are at peace knowing that they did not have to suffer. AJ and Brisky, you will be missed.

Misc. Fall Happenings

The fall has flown by! We've been busy with school and sports like normal, although things are still very abnormal.

the Bible ceremony at Harding was virtual this year so James couldn't be there. I was thrilled to be able to be there as a participant and even received my own Harding Bible. It was a special day for both Case and me. I'm sure it'll feel like no time before he's walking back across the stage as a high school graduate, same Bible in hand.

And then Case and James tested positive for Covid-19 the week of Thanksgiving, so we had a nice quarantined Thanksgiving at home. Case and James mostly stayed upstairs in the playroom and Emery and I started downstairs. Somehow, we both escaped getting it. CJ too.

Entertaining ourselves with Snapchat filters. We were a bit stir crazy!

It wasn't the Thanksgiving we had planned, but we were thankful that the boys weren't too sick and that we were still able to have some fun. We were also WELL taken care of by many friends in our Memphis village. We are most grateful for our village that took such great care of us when we couldn't get out and about.
