Memorial Weekend in Arkansas

We headed to Mountain View for the long weekend and had a great time with my family! Unfortunately, Case was teething, so he was a little cranky part of the time and had a constant stream of slobber coming from his mouth, but for the most part, he was still a good little traveler!

My cousin Trey feeding the horse behind my Granny's house.

Case loved the horse. He thought it was so funny!

Does Case have a dirty diaper???

All the cousins (Evan, Will and Case)

Case and Evan (Case's outfit was soaking wet from all the slobber...poor baby!)

Evan and Will roasting marshmellows in their new fire pit at their house.

Will and Evan's new play area. Can't wait til Case is a little older. He's gonna love going over to their house to play!

All of the cousins (and James) in the "club house."

First Haircut

Last week Case received his very first haircut! It was quite a monumental occasion. He was really good and just sat in my lap and danced to the music that was playing throughout the salon. And now he looks so handsome! Sorry the pics are so blurry. James took them with my phone.

Officially Mobile

So, this is my first attempt at uploading video. It may or may not work. But, Case started crawling right before I headed to San Diego, and while I was gone, he really became mobile. He can now officially go anywhere he wants to if he wants to bad enough. It's made getting ready in the morning a bit more challenging, but we've gotten creative. Enoy the video...if it works!

Happy Birthday...to me!

Today is my birthday, and I've had a great one! The day began with James and Case walking in to wake me up singing "Happy Birthday." Well, James was singing and holding Case, but Case was dancing while James sang. It was too cute!

Then I arrived at work to see this around my office door...ridiculous, I know, but very fun!
And this is what my desk looked like...a Birthday balloon, presents and a little chocolate cake!

It was so sweet of my co-workers and friends to get me gifts...Kendall got me the framed butterfly letters (ACN ~ my initials) and Donna got me the candle and cute wine cork.
A group of gals at work took me to lunch and we dined outside and it was beautiful! I even got a little bit of a sunburn on my arms...pathetic, I know...
And then I came home to these beautiful tulips (my favorite and James knows it) in my Mother's Day vase. Clearly James reads my blog and read my pointer last week! :) I also had a surprise on my deck from Mandi...strawberry cupcakes...yummy!!!

All in all, it's been a great day! Thanks to all my friends and family for the cards and phone calls and for helping make the day special!

San Diego...but no Shamu!

So, last week I joined over 500 other folks in San Diego for the Embassy Suites Brand Conference. I DO LOVE SAN DIEGO! Ever since the first time I visited that city (back when I was in high school) I have loved it. The weather is perfect all year round, and it is the cleanest city I have ever seen. I went with four other people from our office and we had a great time. Unfortunately, however, we weren't there for a vacation. We stayed very busy and worked our tails off, but we did venture outside of the hotel a few nights for dinner and had some delicious sea food! YUMMY! And although we had a great time, it was the longest I have ever been away from Case and, boy was I ready to get home to see him (and James). I missed my boys!!

Here is a pic of all of us (Me, Eric, Kendall & Kate) at the awards dinner, all gussied up!

Working the trade show...
An inner city youth choir performed to kick off one of the general sessions. They were so cute and got everyone fired up to start the day.

Happy Mother's Day!

My first Mother's Day was wonderful! Here are some pics of my present. I LOVE it! James took Case to make a special vase for me! It has Case's hand prints all around it in different colors. It is perfect! James said that Case was very well behaved at the pottery store and seemed to like making it! Maybe I'll get some flowers for my birthday or anniversary in a few weeks (hint, hint) to put in it!

Now, Mother's Day isn't just about me. I have a mother too, after all. So here is a quick little tribute to my own mom with a few fun facts to share about us...
My favorite meal that Mom makes: Spinach Lasagna...oh, and chololate gravy and biscuits
Favorite activity to do with Mom: Shopping
What traits inherited from Mom: Well, my name, although that's not really a trait...My mom's name is Nancy Anne. I think I got her nose, maybe.
Worst memory with Mom: her brushing my hair when I was 5 after I had gotten a perm and looked like Bozo!
Best memory with Mom (one of): The week she spent in Memphis after Case was born
Happy Mother's Day, Mom! And thanks Case (and James) for a very special first Mother's Day!

Time for My Close-Up!

Case was in such a good mood tonight during his bath, that I decided to get out the camera and take a few close-ups of him. Enjoy...

Road Trip

Well, we haven't traveled anywhere since our Mexican vacation in early March, so we decided it was time for a road trip. We headed to Waverly, TN, to see James' family. Below are some pics of the trip. Case was a GREAT traveler! AJ sat in the back with Case and me. He slept most of the way, but was up keeping an eye on Case when I snapped the pic.
And Brisky rode up front with James. He also slept most of the way, but something had his attention when I took his pic. He was on high alert!
Case stayed up a little later than usual so he could play with his grandparents and it wore him out!
