The Journey Continues (Part II)

We received good news on July 13 when the judge agreed for James and I to officially become parties in the case of Jamaica Nicole Pitts. Whoohoo!!! It was a bit of a stressful day waiting to hear the official outcome, but that's exactly what we prayed for. Now we anxiously await the next hearing when the judge will decide whether or not to remove her from DCS custody and put her in our custody. Sound familiar? Always waiting on the next court hearing. So now, September 3 can't come soon enough.

In the meantime, Maisy has been to the infectious disease doctor and the neurologist for follow ups and received a glowing report from both! She's growing and developing just as she should be and all her bloodwork looked clear. Basically, our girl is perfect!

She's also experienced a lot of fun summer activities and traditions with our family.

Maisy, you're now 4.5 months old and almost 10 lbs! You are growing like a weed and the doctors agree that you are so strong! When you aren't sleeping or eating, you are smiling ear to ear and starting to do some big talking, oohing and cooing. You are such a happy baby! Your baby hair has fallen out and new hair is starting to grow in. We can't wait to see what you look like with hair, but think you are adorable without. We love you so much and just can't get enough of our Maisy girl!

Smiling even in your sleep

July 4 Festivities

We celebrated our nation's independence all weekend long! And in the most glorious weather I can ever recall on July 4 in Memphis!

Friday night we had dinner at Graci's followed by the Bartlett fireworks with the whole Purlin Family (Pitts, Turman, Nowlin).

Sunday was the actual 4th, and we made a mad dash after church to make the neighborhood parade.

Lunch and swimming at the Brasfield's after the parade

More swimming and dinner at Ms. Kellee's

And then fireworks in the cove at the Turman's with friends

More fun in the cove the day after the 4th

Happy Birthday, America!
