Emery loves the book, My NO NO NO Day. We read it every night before bed and have read it so many times that she has almost all of the words memorized and can practically read it to herself. Bella is the name of the girl in the book that is having a very bad day (hence the title). I wonder sometimes if it's good to read a book about a little girl who throws such fits and acts so terribly. Does that encourage bad behavior??? I don't know. So far I haven't noticed any significant change in Emery's behavior so maybe it's not a big deal?? It has spawned a new cute trick we call, "Bella face!" Can't help but smile when she puts those hands on her hips and makes that sour face (while trying so hard not to grin)! Love this little bit to pieces, sour face and all!

Is Your Glass Half Full?
Had the privilege of hearing Brad Snyder speak this week at the Home2 Suites Leadership Conference in San Antonio. Please watch the video below for an abbreviated version of his remarkable story. Such a powerful reminder of our perspective on life and the things we take for granted....like our sight! Close your eyes for a minute or two. What would life be like if suddenly you lost your sight. Forever. Would your glass be half empty or half full? Brad's is half full. Overflowing, actually.

BEACH
The Nowlin's have booked our first trip to the beach (as a family of four)! We are super excited to be headed to Puerto Rico for Spring Break! Emery has been so pumped that she wore her new swimsuit for three straight days. She asks every day when she wakes up if we're going to the beach today. I have to explain that we aren't going until March. Unfortunately, that means nothing to her. And Case has asked to watch the video of the water park about a million times. I think he's more excited about the water slides than he is the beach! Fun times ahead!!
