Wedding Weekend

We had a great weekend celebrating the marriage of my cousin Leanne at DeGray Lake Resort in Arkansas. It was beautiful there and with the whole family together for the weekend, it felt a bit like a family vacation. The kids had a ball with their cousins. It was a fun and beautiful weekend! 

The wedding wasn't until Saturday night, so Saturday morning the kiddos swam in the pool and then after lunch we hit the lake to have a little fun on some friends' paddle board. 

Then it was time to head inside to clean up. And I have to give myself credit for Emery's hair. She missed getting it done by a professional because she was at the lake, so I made my own attempt to fix it for her and I have to admit, I was quite proud of myself.

The bride was beautiful. And that dress. Oh, that dress was amazing! 

 

And then I think the most fun time of all for the kids was the reception. Emery danced non-stop. So much that her dressed had rubbed her raw.

Smoky Mountain Labor Day Weekend Getaway

We made a quick trip to East Tennessee for Labor Day weekend because this momma needed a getaway! We had the best time. Work has been so nuts lately that I feel like I've hardly seen the kids, so it was nice to spend so much quality time with them. And the weather...oh, the weather...gave us a taste of fall and we enjoyed every second! 

Most of Saturday was sent in the national park. We hiked to Grotto Falls and it was a great hike for us to do as a family. 

Our cabin was super nice and had an amazing view of Mount LeConte (the highest peak in the Smokies).  It was too overcast to see it our first day but we enjoyed what view we had from the deck (and hot tub). 

Then we hit up Dollywood after 3PM so we could use our tickets for the next day too. Because it was a bit cool and misty, there were no crowds so we got a lot of rides in.

This was our view on Sunday. Clear skies and 59 degrees! Perfect!

Then it was time to hit Dollywood. We opened it up and closed it down! Such a great day!

Back to School Bash (Redux)
