Lower School Night | Fall Fest

Last Friday was Lower School night at the football game AND the fall festival. Before the game the kids could play on bounce houses, get their faces painted and get their photos taken. It was a lot of fun. I had helped the White Station parents club with the photo booths. I think they turned out to be pretty darn cute!

Before the game each class got to run through the lion tunnel. The kids thought it was so much fun.

Then at half time all of the sports teams were introduced.

It was a super fun night made even better by some lovely fall weather that blew in during the first quarter.

Humpreys County Fair

We spent Labor Day weekend in Waverly visiting James' parents. Lucky for us, the fair was in town. It was the highlight of the weekend for the kids. They had a ball!

Flag Football

To be honest, the season started off a bit rough. Football is a complex sport, especially for 6, 7 and 8 year olds, some of which have never watched or played football before. But these little dudes have worked hard, learned a ton and have improved each and every week. I do believe they are starting to get the hang of it and won their first game last week! Case even scored the extra point and ran the ball into the end zone for a touchdown!

The Hair Cut

Well, the inevitable has happened. Emery has cut her hair. Gave herself some bangs one evening while I was cooking dinner and the guys were are football practice. I asked her what she did with the hair she cut and she took me upstairs, kneeled in front of the TV cabinet in the playroom, reached under and pulled it out. I think the fact the she hid it clearly shows that she knew she wasn't supposed to do it. Smart girl, that one!

I had hoped that we would somehow skip over this milestone, but alas, it really happened. Now...I realize that it could have been worse. That's what everyone keeps telling me. Well, of course it could have been worse! I mean she could have cut it off right at the scalp, or a big chunk out of the back, or worse! But that doesn't make me happy about these bangs! I have chosen not to take her in to have them cleaned up. We are pretending that it didn't happen and are impatiently waiting for them to grow back out. I just couldn't commit to the bangs.

And in case you are wondering…she is very proud of herself.
