The Heart of a Servant

So, I know that the 'ole blog is usually reserved for posts regarding my super cute kiddos, but I'm going to shake it up a bit and brag on my amazing husband. He's going to be so mad at me for this, but that's a risk I'm willing to take...

This guy is the greatest. He has shaped me into a newer, better version of myself over the past 8 1/2 years of our marriage and for that I am thankful. I'm thankful for his leadership. Thankful that he is setting such a wonderful example for our children. Showing them what it looks like to be a father, husband and most importantly, a servant. And he'd be the first to tell  you that his journey to this point has been a long one. With many bumps in the road. But he is making a difference in this world in so many ways. And all for the glory of God. He has the heart of a servant. A walking, breathing version of Philippians 2:3-8: "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others."

He's living it out. I wonder sometimes how he does it. I can't...or won't, rather. I'm too selfish with my time. But he does it. And I love him for it. Never been prouder to be by his side. And hoping that he continues to wear off on me.

Dentist. Check.

Case went to the dentist for the first time last week. And just as I suspected, he was the perfect patient! And he good a good report, too! So proud of this little man!

Thanks, Dr. Clay

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from the Nowlins! We've celebrated this fun holiday on multiple occasions, which I didn't mind one bit. It's one of my favorites. I love dressing up these cutie-pies! Can hardly even stand the cuteness!

Trunk or Treat at Highland...

Sweet little strawberry!

Not too happy...

This one cracks me up...they look like they are trying to figure out what the
heck is going on and why they are dressed up in silly costumes!
Em and her friend, Jordan

Case and his friends Taryn and Cole

My personal favorite...UP! Our friends, the Fagalas!

Charlie. You. Are. Killing. Me.

Randi and Ryan

The Dashers

Then it was time to celebrate at Highland Day School...

Making ghost cookies!

And then it was finally October 31! And we had our annual Brierwood neighborhood gathering with dinner together followed by trick-or-treating together around our neighborhood. We LOVE our neighborhood so much and are so glad that we started this fun tradition!

Attempt at a group kid shot. Total chaos!!! Emery was having a total meltdown and wouldn't even get in the frame.
