We had a fun time celebrating the birthday of the good 'ole USA, even though we didn't get to see any fireworks due to storms the night of July 4. We will have to make up for it with extra fireworks next year!
Kicked the holiday off with a picnic before the Stars and Stripes 5K at the Botanic Gardens. This was the last of a four-race series I signed up for back in May. I have really enjoyed all the races and the weather this summer has been delightful so far, making it even more enjoyable.

Then the morning of the 4th we had our annual Brierwood neighborhood parade. It grows in number every year! So much fun! Following the parade we hit the neighbor's pool for more fun and a picnic.
