Yesterday, the weather was glorious so we headed to the zoo. I captured this video of the 18 year old female lion. Her partner of many years died in November, and she's been mourning ever since. It makes me so sad, but the sound she made was so loud (the video really doesn't do it justice) it really gave you a a sense of how powerful these animals are and I sure wouldn't want to run into one in the wild...
But the good news is the zoo is getting a young male and female lion soon and are going to try and make baby lion cubs, so that will be something to look forward to...

oh, my heart hurts for her. I hope she gets some youngsters soon.
