Emery Anne is 8

We've had a blast celebrating our big eight-year-old!  Last weekend we had a movie party at the Malco theater to see the new Dumbo movie. The girls had a great time and we all enjoyed the movie.

Then a few days later it was her actual birthday! So we started the day off with presents and then I brought Chick-fil-a to the birthday girl at lunch and Gibson's donuts for her whole class.

She got cards, money, a sprinkler for the trampoline, a fleece blanket with her name on it and a bean bag chair with pockets (the most important part).

 

Happy 8th birthday, Emery! You bring so much joy to our lives! You are so happy and full of energy, skipping and singing wherever you go. You keep us laughing with your goofy faces and dance moves. You have been missing your four front teeth for months and they are finally coming in making you look so grown up! You make your OCD mother crazy with your constant crafting, fort building and engineering of all sorts of things around the house like a closet for your doll clothes (complete with an operational overhead light and all). When you aren't crafting, you are making up new dance routines and even sometimes manage to convince your brother to join in. You still love gymnastics but are trying out soccer again (fingers crossed you love it). Although you don't choose to read for fun very often, you have turned into a great little reader. You also watch a lot of YouTube kids and Netflix with classic favorites like When Calls the Heart and Anne with an "e" and then some strange ones like the fishing show Chasing Monsters. One thing's for sure ... you are your own person, one-of-a-kind, and we simply couldn't love you any more! Wishing your the very happiest of birthdays!!  - Love, Mom and Dad
