My mom and I just returned from a great trip to New York City! We were both a bit worried about the July heat back in April when we booked the trip, but the weather was perfect. Low 80's during the day, upper 60's at night and zero humidity (at least until the last day). We couldn't believe it! And we made the most of it walking over 20 miles while we were there.
Our first stop upon arrival was to see the twins, Nora and Margot. Oh, my how I love babies! And these two were super sweet. I couldn't get enough of them!!

A quick stop for a photo op on our walk back to the hotel |

And then by Rockefeller Center before heading back to the hotel for the night. |
Sunday morning we were headed to the museum via a walk through Central Park and decided spur of the moment to rent bikes and bike through the park instead. The weather was too nice to be indoors. So we biked the full loop around the park, stopping along the way to see some of the sights. The NYC Triathlon was Sunday morning, so we ended up having to dodge the thousands of athletes running through the park (which was a bit tricky at times) but it was fun to see them as they were approaching the final miles of their run.
Sunday afternoon we headed down Broadway to the Music Box Theater to see the Tony Award winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen. We were so excited to see Tony winner, Ben Platt play the lead and then we discovered upon arrival that Ben was on vacation and the role was being played by another actor. We were disappointed, but the musical itself didn't disappoint. It was fantastic. Even Ben Platt's understudy was amazing.
Monday morning we visited the 9/11 memorial and museum. It was heavy and emotional but overall very well done.

And before leaving town we had more baby time!
Wouldn't have changed a thing about our trip! Super thankful to have had this experience with my Mom. Many great memories made. Until next time, NYC...
