Happy Birthday, Emmy! I can't believe a whole year has gone by already (for a trip back in time, check out E's arrival story from a year ago). How can that be? Last night at ten o'clock when I went into your room to check on you, I just couldn't stand how big you looked in your crib. You are just getting so big and I can hardly stand it. I just scooped you right up and rocked you for a while and then put you back down. I know you'll be too big to rock before long, so I figured I better get a little in while I can!
You've really changed a lot in these past few months. You aren't walking yet, but I don't think it will be much longer. You stand up all the time and will take a step or two before you squat back down to the floor. You are starting to jabber a lot and point to things. I think you may be a talker, girl! You aren't very interested in toys. You still just like to get into EVERYTHING and you are never still. It is near impossible to change your diaper or your clothes. No joke. We have to do it on the floor and there are a lot of "no no's" from me and a lot of screams outta you! The best entertainment these days is getting into the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, crawling up the stairs (you clap for yourself when you get to the top and it's so cute), and standing at the front and back doors trying to get outside. You also love to torment your big brother. We've been working on teaching you not to bite him! And in these past few months, it's become clear that you are going to be the animal lover in the family. You like to play with your stuffed animals, watch animals on TV and the zoo keeps you entertained for hours! The giraffes are your favorite, of course!
We will officially celebrate your big day tomorrow with all of your grandparents, but I tried to make today a little special since it's your actual birthday. We all shared an Icee at Target this morning and then at the zoo we watched brother ride the carousel, we all rode a camel and then we splurged on some Dip n' Dots. It was a fun day, I think!
Happy Birthday once again, baby girl! We love you to pieces!
